1、 Basic composition of lubricating grease
Lubricating grease is mainly composed of thickener, base oil and additives. The content of thickener in general lubricating grease is about 10%-20%, the content of base oil is about 75%-90%, and the content of additives and fillers is less than 5%.
l. Base oil
Base oil is the dispersing medium in the grease dispersion system, which has a great impact on the performance of grease. Generally, petroleum lubricating oil with medium viscosity and high viscosity is used as the base oil for lubricating grease. In order to meet the needs of mechanical lubrication and sealing under harsh conditions, synthetic lubricating oil is used as the base oil, such as ester oil, silicone oil, polyolefin oil, etc.
2. thickener
Thickener is an important component of lubricating grease. The thickener is dispersed in the base oil and forms the structural skeleton of lubricating grease, so that the base oil is adsorbed and fixed in the structural skeleton. The water resistance and heat resistance of lubricating grease are mainly determined by thickener. There are two main types of thickeners used to prepare greases. Soap based thickeners (i.e. fatty acid metal salts) and non soap based thickeners (hydrocarbons, inorganic and organic).
Soap based thickeners are divided into single soap base (such as calcium base grease), mixed soap base (such as calcium sodium base grease) and composite soap base (such as composite calcium base grease). 90% of the grease is made of soap based thickener.
3. additives and fillers
One kind of additive is used by lubricating grease, which is called glue solvent. It makes the combination of oil and soap more stable? Such as glycerin and water. Once water is lost in calcium based grease, its structure will be completely destroyed and cannot be formed into grease. For example, glycerol can adjust the consistency of grease in sodium based grease. The other type of additive is the same as that in lubricating oil, such as anti-oxidation, anti-wear and anti rust agents, but the amount is generally more than that in lubricating oil. Such as phosphate ester, ZDDP, Elco extreme pressure antiwear agent, compound agent, drop point improver, etc. Sometimes, graphite, molybdenum disulfide and carbon black are often added as fillers in order to improve the resistance of grease to loss and enhance the ability of lubrication.
2、 Instructions for use of lubricating grease
Types of products that can be replaced by grease: lithium grease, calcium grease, aluminum grease, compound lithium grease, compound aluminum grease, high temperature grease, low temperature grease axle bearing grease, multi-functional grease, electric motorcycle grease, insulation grease, bearing grease, O-ring grease. Under the following conditions, it is recommended to use super lube high temperature extreme pressure grease instead of super lube multi-functional synthetic grease: the operating temperature is high. When the operating temperature exceeds 260 ℃, most of the base oil will evaporate, and sufficient lubricating oil film strength cannot be formed. At this time, some solid additives such as lead, aluminum, copper and molybdenum need to be used. Main application environment: high temperature furnace, automatic welding equipment and pure oxygen environment. Although the super lube is difficult to burn. But pure oxygen environment will accelerate its oxidation. If super lube multi-functional synthetic grease is used in pure oxygen environment, it will spontaneously ignite. In such cases as oxidation welding equipment, medical equipment, diving navigation respiratory system, etc., please use our high temperature extreme pressure grease.
